In the autumn of 2000, Charles Shearn (a.k.a. Charlie Shearn) left the automotive industry to study at Central Saint Martins and become a photographer.

Time and again he is commended for his disarming, reassuring yet down-to-business nature, for his ability to draw out a great photograph from even the most awkward subject. He is based in North London.

"Charles Shearn is our photographer of choice. He makes the effort to get to know his clients and is attentive and sympathetic to their wishes and needs. I am very pleased to recommend him." Gillian Bishop, Family Law in Partnership

"Charlie has a rare ability to take an uncertain brief and turn it in to a visual masterpiece. For those of us more comfortable with words than images, he translates vague concepts in to beautiful pictures. Freelance photographers are two-a-penny. Photographers that can capture one's vision are rare. Charlie is the latter. He is also thorough, organised and professional. He is a delight to work with and delivers more than you would anticipate. I recommend him without hesitation." Emma Thwaites, Thwaites Communications

"Over the years Charles has been a regular contributor to many of my magazines. He has always and continues to produce good quality portraiture ideal for editorial use. As a keen lens man, Charles is dependable, flexible and creative. He has a calming manner about him and takes direction very well. More importantly, he delivers work on time. A must have 'snapper' on any aspiring art directors contact list." Tan Parmar
